A Nigerian-born, English-Australian film and stage actor, Hugo Wallace Weaving is best remembered for his role as Agent Smith in The Matrix trilogy and as Elrond in The Lord of the Rings. The actor made his debut in 1984 with the Australian TV series’, Bodyline where he played the role of English cricket captain, Douglas Jardine. In a career spanning more than 25 years, Weaving has appeared in more than 30 films and TV series and along the way has picked several prestigious awards including AACTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role and AFCTA Award for Best Supporting Actor.
